I am a UK-based musician with a strong interest in the influence of sound on consciousness and well-being. Musical Cosmos explores this topic, as well as anything else music-related that takes my fancy, including performing, composing and recording music, and my favourite performers/bands, composers, instruments and musical styles.
Also covered is how music and non-musical sound can be used to directly affect our moods and perceptions, and how they can influence our environment. I’m especially interested in binaural beats and similar technologies, and will share some of my own experiments with these. I have a strong interest in the metaphysical aspects of sound, especially its use in the induction of hypnotic trance states and other altered states of consciousness, such as lucid dreaming and out of body experience.
Over time detailed reviews will be added of recordings, equipment, books, sites and other stuff that I’ve found to be interesting and/or useful, as well as a selection of in-depth articles on the topics mentioned above - plus plenty of random and eclectic musical musings that may or may not be of interest to anyone except myself!
